Gyotaku, or fish rubbings. It is the ancient Japaanese art created by pressing material on to a painted fish. This preserves and immortalizes the natural beauty of the fish.

My unquenchable desire to see the world has paved paths through places that have given me inspiration to reflect the raw beauty I have encountered along the way. The colors on my pallet and the subjects on my canvas are attempts to highlight the simple beauty we so often take for granted. Whether I’m painting the delicate details on a butterfly’s wing or trying to bring life to a portrait by way light reflects off the eyes, my desire is to show adoration and appreciation for a world so obviously designed by the ultimate artist, the muse of all creation.

Original Acrylic on canvas 24''x48'' Though she walked through fire hot and fierce, it had not the power to destroy, But burned away the sin wrought chains that bound stone hearts, unacquainted with joy. The lovely rose allured her in and thorns emerged to prick, But crimson stains were washed away and left was pure white silk. She felt a flutter of delicate wings that she’d never felt before, A flock of doves, a flood of peace implanted in her core.
